Ms. Anna Gekht

Anna Gekht is Sr. Complementary Pathways Officer at the Division of International Protection (DIP) of UNHCR in UNHCR HQ in Geneva. She currently holds the portfolio of policy and guidance development of education pathways along with labour mobility and family reunification and is responsible for UNHCR internal guidance and systems development in the area of complementary pathways overall. Prior to joining the team in Geneva, Anna has held a number of international positions in the area of refugee protection, resettlement and asylum systems building over her 12 years with UNHCR, which she joined after a decade working with various NGOs in the areas of refugee protection and human rights. Anna holds an LL.M. in Public International Law from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, an MA in International Relations from University of Kent in the UK and a BA in History from New York University in the US. Her family and her are beneficiaries of US resettlement programme in 1990s, when they have arrived in New York City.
