Marco Zoppi

Marco Zoppi is a Post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Political and Social Science, University of Bologna. In this position, he is currently involved in three international research projects dealing with the topics of migration, diaspora and integration of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Europe and across the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region (two funded by Adrion Interreg: REInSER, TESI; and one by Erasmus+ Programme: and GlocalEast). Marco is also a Board member of IECOB – The Institute for Central-Eastern and Balkan Europe, which carries out research and training on a wide range of topics, including peace and reconciliation. Marco’s research interests focus primarily on migration, diaspora and integration issues, which he studies also through interviews and quantitative data. He is the author of about 40 academic publications, among which journal articles, book chapters and monographies. He has authored the recently published book “Futures of the Western Balkans: Fragmentation and Integration in the Region and Beyond” (Springer, 2022).
