Rachel Criswell
Ms Rachel Criswell is a Senior Policy Officer with UNHCR based in Geneva, where she helps facilitate the work of the Global Academic Interdisciplinary Network (GAIN), a coalition of academic actors doing research and teaching on forced displacement and statelessness issues as well as supporting forcibly displaced scholars and students through scholarships and similar initiatives.
Prior to joining UNHCR in 2018, Rachel worked in civil society organizations, including World Vision International, focused on the well-being of children and youth. She was the Rapporteur for the UNHCR-NGO consultations on comprehensive refugee response, in which capacity she shared recommendations from more than 250 civil society organisations with UNHCR and UN Member States during the process of creating the 2018 Global Compact on Refugees. Rachel holds an MSc from Oxford Brookes University in Development Practice.
