Refugee Law and
Migration Center

On the 27th of December 2019, the Education and Scientific Council of the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” established the Center for Refugee Law and Migration, Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje as Center for legal clinical education – Refugee Law and Migration Center.

The Center is an internal organizational unit of the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje dedicated to legal clinical and other forms of education, training and research in the field of refugee law and migration.

Prof. d-r Irena Rajchinovska Pandeva

Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje

Irena Rajchinovska Pandeva is an associate professor in political science at the Iustinianus Primus Law Faculty at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. She is a vice dean for science and international cooperation and Erasmus Coordinator, as well as a Head of the Refugee Law and Migration Center and project manager and mentor at the Refugee Law Clinic at the same Faculty. She teaches several courses on both undergraduate and postgraduate level in four study programs. Since 2020 she is a member of the TEPSA (Trans European Policy Studies Association, Brussels) Board. Her research interests are focused on EU integration, identities, Europeanisation, geopolitics, conflicts, transition and migrations.

Prof. d-r Sasho Georgievski

Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje

Scientific coordinator and mentor of the refugee law clinic. Prof. d-r Sasho Georgievski is a tenure professor at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” – Skopje, Department of Public International Law and International Relations, where he teaches multiple subjects at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level in the fields of Public International Law and European Union Law. As of 2012 he is a Jean Monnet Chair. He is an author and editor of multiple books, including many articles in the areas of international public law and EU law. The main academic interests of professor Georgievski include international investment law, the implementation of international and EU law by the national courts of EU-membership candidate countries and legal culture in SEE.

Prof. d-r Elena Mihajlova Stratilati

Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje

Member of the Center for refugee law and migration at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” – Skopje, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University – Skopje and a mentor of the refugee law clinic. Prof. D-r Elena Mihajlova Stratilati is an associate professor of international public law at the department of international public law at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” – Skopje. She is also a member of the (European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) Professor Mihajlova Stratilati is involved in multiple subjects at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level such as: international public law, International human rights law, International humanitarian law, Peaceful settlement of disputes and transitional justice. Her academic interests include: human rights, hate speech and hate crimes, cultural identities, democracy and transitional justice.
