Zoran Drangovski

Zoran Drangovski is an established professional in the area of asylum and migration with more than ten years of direct work in legal assistance, research, legislation and practice. As President of the Macedonian Young Lawyers Association (MYLA), he is one of the initiators of the Balkan Refugee and Migration Council and co-drafer of the “Skopje Declaration on Asylum, Migration and NGO Cooperation”. Moreover, he is a member of the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) and author of various studies, in particular concerning return policies, detention and asylum.

As MYLA’s field coordinator at the border between North Macedonia and Serbia during the 2015-2016 refugee/migrant crisis, he had direct contact and first-hand experience of the practices used to arrange the transit of the people on the move.
