About the Refugee Law Clinic
The Refugee Law Clinic was established as a strategic partnership between the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje and the UNHCR Mission in Skopje with the signing of the Agreement for cooperation on the 28 th of September 2018. The Refugee Law Clinic was launched by the introduction of new optional course in the curriculum of the master course International Law and relations and EU law at the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” as well as an optional course at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University –Skopje.
The newly introduced course was titled as: Refugees, migrants, stateless persons and human rights in crisis. The in 2018 and 2019 the Refugee Law Clinic team was composed by prof. d-r Ljubomir Danailov Frckoski, prof. d-r Elena Mihajlova Stratilati and prof. d-r Irena Rajchinovska Pandeva, as mentors and Viki Mladenova as project assistant. Since 2019 the team of the Clinic is composed by prof. d-r Saso Georgievski, prof. d-r Elena Mihajlova Stratilati and prof. d-r Irena Rajchinovska Pandeva, as mentors and Nikola Donev as project assistant and Marjan Cvetanovski in charge of accounting services.

Activities
Lecture Sessions
Each semester the team of mentors, composed by university professors from the Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” in Skopje have lecture sessions where the students are introduced with the theoretical framework of refugee law international legal regime and migration in national, regional and international context.
Complementary to the theoretical lectures, each semester a series of sessions are organized in cooperation with the UNHCR mission in Skopje in order to familiarize the students with the work done by the mission as well as the challenges faced by institutions and organizations working in the field of refugee law, asylum, statelessness and migration.
Study Visits
Study visits are conducted during each semester so the students are able to familiarize themselves with the work of various national institutions with refugees and asylum seekers. Study visits include: The Sector for Asylum at the Ministry of Interior of Republic of North Macedonia, Vinojug refugee and migrant transit centre on the south border, RTC Tabanovce on the north border and the Center for Asylum Seekers in Vizbegovo, Skopje.
Guest Lectures
Guest lecturers are aimed at giving a different perspective on refugee law, migration in a wider local, regional and global context. Guest lectures are held by representatives of UNHCR, lawyers and experts or representatives of various institutions working on issues related to the Clinic on topics such as national asylum system and its practical application.
During each semester the Clinic organizes guest lectures by international experts on a regular basis.

Одбележување на 20 јуни – World Refugee Day
Денес во аулата на Правен факултет „Јустинијан Први“ – Скопје се одбележа Меѓународниот ден на бегалците. На настанот се обратија Моника Сандри, претставник на UNHCR-Skopje, Проф. д-р. Сашо Георгиевски, претставник на правната клиника за право на бегалци и Љупка Новеска Андоновска, претставник
на Македонско здружение на млади правници; и претставник на Здружение на Новинари.
На Меѓународниот ден на бегалците, 20 јуни, беа доделени сертификати од страна на УНХЦР – Скопје и Правниот факултет „Јустинијан Први“ – Скопје, на студентите од зимскиот (2018) и летниот семестар (2019) кои беа дел од активностите на Правната клиника за право на бегалци.
На настанот се доделија и наградите на победниците на Наградата за професионално известување за состојбата на бегалците при мешаните миграциски движења за 2018 година во Република Северна Македонија, како и сертификатите за студентите кои успешно го завршија циклусот на Правната
клиника.

Opening ceremony of the Refugee Law Clinic
Во своето обраќање, Деканот на Правниот факултет „Јустинијан Први“ – проф. д-р Горан Коевски, изјави: „Понудувањето на предметна програма каква што ќе биде онаа активирана во рамки на Клиниката за право на бегалци – Бегалци, мигранти, лица без државјанство и криза на човековите права има неколкуслојно значење:
- интердисциплинарниот пристап кон темите кои ќе бидат обработувани и со тоа содржинска и методолошка збогатеност на целокупната студиска програма на Правниот факултет,
- унапредување на знаењето на студентите и нивното разбирање на тековните и важни теми како човековите права од една страна, и од друга состојбите на страдање на големи групи како она на бегалците, мигрантите, лицата без државјанство,
- фокус кон програмите на Правниот факултет кои може да бидат интересни и отворени кон љубопитноста на студентите од соседните хуманистички науки.“
Научниот координатор, проф. д-р Љубомир Данаилов Фрчкоски изјави: „Имам задоволство да го обзнанам развивањето на изборен предмет за правото на бегалци и импликациите кои ги има ова право на поширокиот контекст на човековите права. Задоволството е поголемо бидејќи се работи за заеднички проект со Претставништвото на УНХЦР во Скопје. Работевме напорно на проектот и посебно на развој на курикулумот и резултат е мошне добар – според наше мислење. Договоривме инспиративен курикулум со интердисциплинарна структура и сместен во научните области – политичка филозофија, филозофија на право и меѓународно право, како и организиравме соодветен тим кој ќе го спроведе.
Дополнително, разработивме и предлог за вежби кои ќе бидат спроведени заедно со УНХЦР, имено ќе бидат спроведени како практична настава.“
Дејан Кладарин од Претставништвото на УНХЦР во Скопје изјави: „Сметаме дека од особена важност е воспоставувањето на соработка со Правниот факултет „Јустинијан Први“ и затоа би сакал да изразам голема благодарност до Правниот факултет за отвореноста да дадат важност на прашањата кои се актуелни во светот, во регионот и во земјава, како и за поготвеноста да воведат програма која ќе ги третира прашањата за заштита на бегалците и на таа тема ќе работи со идните правници со цел нивно насочување кон правичност и, пред сè, човечност.“
