Ivana Krstić

Ivana Krstić is a Full Professor of International Human Rights Law and International Public Law, Chair of the Department of International Law and International Relations, and Director of the Human Rights Centre at the
Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. She teaches a range of courses, including European Immigration Law and Policy, Refugee Law, and Minority Rights. Her academic work includes several monographs and textbooks, approximately 30 handbooks, and over 60 articles in the fields of international human rights law, international refugee law, and public international law. Recognized as one of Serbia’s leading experts in human rights, Professor Krstić has been actively involved in numerous projects led by different international organizations, including UNHCR. Domestically, she works closely with the Serbian Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, the Judicial Academy, and the National Academy for Public Servants. She has designed and delivered extensive training programs for judges and other public officials, including mentoring in the Council of Europe’s HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal
Professionals) course on Asylum and Human Rights, Refugee and Migrant Children and Alternative Measures to Detention.
Professor Krstić is a member of the European Equality Law Network (EELN) and serves as Co-Rapporteur for the Serbia Country Report in the Oxford Compendium of National Legal Responses to COVID-19. She is also a
co-editor of the Springer series Gender Perspectives in Law and actively contributes to the Feminist Judgments for South-East Europe project. Since 1 November 2023, she has served as a member of the UN Working Group
on Discrimination against Women and Girls.
