Mikko Annala

Mikko Annala is the Head of Transformative Governance at Demos Helsinki. His expertise lies in supporting governments to co-create and experiment towards desirable futures, using data and evidence to re-imagine and improve their policymaking functions and public services.  At Demos Helsinki, Mikko has worked in a leading role in projects that have resulted in tangible governance and operational models, funding structures, and experiments within various governance systems. For example, Mikko had a major role in creating a model – commissioned by Finnish Prime Minister’s office – for connecting experimentation to strategic goals at the highest policymaking level in Finland. Mikko’s background is in social psychology, with strong experience in understanding behaviour, resulting from conducting psychological research and testing customer behaviour with startup companies.
